I'm a versatile technology professional with a love of backend development, system design, automated testing, DevOps and cloud architecture as well as a healthy enthusiasm for frontend development.

My aim is to find resilient solutions to business problems, with a particular focus on services that have a positive impact on people's lives.

My software career to date has spanned multiple sectors - consultancy, music, travel, telecommunications and automotive - so I've been fortunate to see lots of interesting ways technology can be used to drive different types of business forwards.

In addition to my employment, I'm also fortunate to have held my own tech company directorships where I was responsible for seeing full projects through to completion, giving me a totally different perspective on the technical process.

Since 2022 I have taken part in 20+ expert workshops as part of the AWS Certification Subject Matter Expert program, my role as a SME and Lead SME helping shape technical standards and exam content used by thousands of engineers worldwide.

I take a collaborative approach to every project and believe that most problems are best solved through teamwork coupled with a strong individual drive to deliver excellent results.

As a naturally curious person, I'm always learning new things, having already completed an MEng and an MSc in addition to a number of certifications in various areas. I am a huge fan of cloud computing and the cloud native paradigm, and I'm always keen to boost my skills.

As every new project brings with it new challenges, I know how important it is to be constantly expanding my skillset in this ever-changing industry, so I am always keen to try something new and document some of my learning along the way.
